Staying connected is crucial during times like these. Reach out to friends and loved ones, offer support, and lean on one another for strength. We encourage you to prioritize self-care, whether through meditation, pursuing hobbies, or simply taking a moment to breathe.
For those dealing with anxiety, here are some tools to help (IDF Guidance):
*First Aid for Anxiety Attacks: Recognize the importance of first aid during an anxiety attack (rights reserved for the Home Front Command).
*Action and Movement: Encourage individuals to take action, like standing up, walking, explaining their surroundings, and practicing simple calming actions independently.
*Deep Breathing: Suggest deep breathing exercises to calm the body. Inhale deeply for 5 seconds and exhale for 5 seconds. This technique can help reduce tension and stabilize the body. Consider practices like meditation, yoga, and guided imagery.
*Highlight Coping Abilities: Explain their valid feelings given the situation and remind them of their inner strength to overcome challenges.
*Informative Information: Provide event details and reassure that the current situation is under control with a strong army doing everything to keep us safe.
*Seek Support from Loved Ones: Encourage contacting family or friends for emotional support.
*Distract the Mind: Engage in other topics to divert attention from immediate concerns. Keeping a distance from immediate danger can strengthen individuals.
*Minimize Physical Contact: Avoid physical contact with anxious individuals, as it may exacerbate feelings of helplessness. Respect personal space and ask how you can assist.
Even in the darkest times, a glimmer of hope shines. We send you our love and support.
