Minister of External Affairs H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar visit to Israel
The Minister of External of India H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar visited Israel from 17-21 October as part of the efforts to further enrich the strategic ties besides exploring new areas of bilateral collaboration between India and Israel.
EAM interacted with the Israeli business and Hi-Tech community, the Indian-origin Jewish community in Israel, Indologists and Indian students who are currently pursuing their education in Israeli universities.
EAM lauded the business relationship between India and Israel, saying that India regards Israel “in many ways as perhaps our most trusted and innovative partner.” He also said that the degree of trust between both countries is very high and also noted that it was no coincidence that his first substantive meeting on the trip was with Israeli business leaders.
EAM also visited Kibbutz Be'erot Yitzhak. During the visit, the Minister was exposed to the farming technologies of SCR/Allflex, which is an Israeli AgriTech company that already works in India, and looking to expand its presence in the Indian market.
EAM called on the President of Israel Mr. Isaac Herzog, had very productive Prime Minister Naftali Bennet, and his Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid wherein both parties agreed to renew negotiations on a free trade area agreement (FTA) from November, and also to mutually recognise Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

Israel, India to build 10-year defense cooperation plan
Israel and India have agreed to form a task force that will build a 10-year cooperation plan to identify new areas in defense cooperation between the two countries. The plan, which will include defense procurement, production and research and development, was agreed upon last week during a visit last week by Ajay Kumar, the director-general of the Indian ministry of defense.
 
India's manufacturing activity grows at fastest pace in 7 months
Manufacturing activity in India gained steam in October as companies scaled up production in line with a substantial upturn in new work intakes, according to a private survey. Similarly, factory output increased at a sharp pace that was the strongest since March. At 55.9 in October, vs 53.7 in September, the seasonally adjusted IHS Markit India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index was in expansion territory for the fourth month in a row in October, pointing to the strongest improvement in overall operating conditions since February. According to the survey, firms stepped up input purchasing amid stock-building efforts and in anticipation of further improvements in demand, while business optimism hit a six-month high.

India, UAE, and Israel announce cooperation to grow trade
 
Israel, UAE, and India will cooperate to grow the volume of trade between the three nations. The announcement came Tuesday morning at an event in Dubai attended by representatives from the three countries. The three parties are expected to strengthen the trilateral relations with a common goal of promoting business cooperation, mutual investments, and the scaling of business activities. Trade between the countries today stands at about $64 billion - with trade between India and the UAE alone totaling about $59 billion. Hence, the goal is to increase Israeli trade with both countries by strengthening cooperation between the three countries. This is especially true in areas where Israel excels, such as electronic equipment, cybersecurity, chemicals, fertilizers, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and more.

Indian military inaugurates use of IAI's missile defense system
The Indian Armed Forces have inaugurated the integration and operational use of the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Barak 8 MRSAM Air & Missile Defense System. MRSAM is an advanced path-breaking air and missile defense system that provides ultimate protection against a variety of aerial platforms and includes an advanced phased-array radar, command and control shelter, mobile launchers and interceptors with an advanced RF seeker. MRSAM is jointly developed by IAI and DRDO in collaboration with India and Israel for the Indian forces. September 12, 2021
