Embassy’s outreach to Israeli Companies
On 24 February, 2021, Embassy in cooperation with Federation of Israeli Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a zoom meeting with 15 Israeli companies which showed interest in imports and doing business in India. Follow-up action is also being taken.

The kickoff meeting of iCreate and SNC first accelerator (Access India Accelerator):
The kickoff meeting of iCreate and SNC first accelerator (Access India Accelerator) was held on 22nd February, 2021 virtually. Ambassador Shri Sanjeev Singla gave his opening remarks. On 22 September, iCreate and Startup Nation Central (SNC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in making the Indian market accessible to Israeli companies through collaborations. As a part of the MoU, six Israeli tech start-ups were chosen to work with Indian corporations in the areas of electric powertrain, water desalination, laboratory analytical instruments (safe and cost-effective use of Hydrogen in Gas Chromatography applications), AI/ML based solutions for driver safety and Data Centre Management. During the six-week program, these start-ups would be provided a comprehensive understanding of the Indian ecosystem through group mentoring sessions, workshops and one-to-one interactions with the subject matter experts, successful Indian entrepreneurs, government functionaries and business leaders to work on the product-market fit and localize their business model for Indian customers. The program would conclude with a demo-day wherein the start-ups would present their business plans to the Indian corporations, investors and other interested stakeholders for Paid Pilots, Go-to Market Opportunities, Collaborative Research and Development projects etc. The ultimate objective would be to achieve the full adaptation of technologies and collaborative business models that will form the basis of long term, sustainable collaboration between not only start-ups from both nations, but also their innovation and start-up ecosystems.
The programme will help the Israeli companies with: (i) Increased understanding of Indian culture and how to effectively do business in India; (ii) Facilitating access to professional networks - i.e Mentors, Domain experts from Industry, Suppliers, R&D organization; (iii) Assess attractiveness of their value proposition in Indian markets; (iv) Localization of Business Models; (v) Determining the tangible next steps for building roadmap for expansion; and (vi) Opportunity to showcase their solution to interested stakeholders from Corporate, Government, and potential Investors.

Counsellor for Commerce, Mr. Pramod Sharma, participated as a speaker at the virtual event organized by the Association of Corporate Counsel which is the representative organization of the in house lawyers in Israel, with almost 500 members and many more followers in Israel.. Event was sponsored also by India Israel Chamber of Commerce and Indian law firm DSK and focused on the legal apects in doing business with India.

Qualitest acquires QA Infotech, an Indian-based quality assurance company Israeli software testing and quality assurance company Qualitest has announced its acquisition of QA InfoTech, an independent quality assurance company based in India. While the sum of the acquisition was not disclosed, it is expected that the deal will help expand Qualitest’s existing automation testing capabilities, nearly tripling capacity for its offshore delivery customer service model. Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and WhizHack Technologies launch India's 1st Dual Certificate in Cyber Defense Supported by Israeli Edtech Leader Cybint
IITJ TISC and WhizHack Technologies Private Limited announced an Advanced Certification Bootcamp in Cyber Defense through their partnership with Cybint. The 480-hour, 6-month intensive course will have self paced modules, complemented by live sessions and mentoring by IIT Jodhpur faculty, industry experts and access to advanced cloud-based labs on latest cyber tools and techniques.

Indian Army receives first shipment of Israeli Negev light machine guns
The Indian Army received at the beginning of 2021 its first consignment of 6,000 Israeli Negev Light Machine Guns (LMGs) out of the 16,000 ordered last year. The rest are expected to be delivered by March, Indian Army sources added.

India's Reliance Group acquires millions of Covid-19 breath tests in $15 million deal with Israel’s Breath of Health
Israeli company Breath of Health (B.O.H) has signed an agreement with India's Reliance Group to distribute the company's swift Covid-19 breath testing system throughout India. According to the agreement, the Indian giant will purchase hundreds of systems in a deal valued at $15 million and will use them to conduct millions of tests a month at a cost of $10 million per month. In addition, it will lead research of the system in India and will distribute the platform throughout the country and in the Far East.

Wipro signs MoU with Tel Aviv University for research in quantum computing
Strengthening the India-Israel scientific collaboration, Indian multinational corporation Wipro has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel's Tel Aviv University for research and analysis in quantum science and technology. According to the MoU, Tel Aviv University's Center for Quantum Science & Technology (QuanTAU) faculty members will work with Wipro and its customers to analyse use cases and potential applications of quantum computing for the Indian IT major's large organizational clients. Tel Aviv University researchers and Wipro scientists will develop and study various approaches, define potential research solutions and implement these solutions, a press release stated.

IAI successfully tests MRSAM missile defense in India
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and DRDO India have announced that they have successfully tested their MRSAM air and missile defense systems, which they have jointly developed. MRSAM is an advanced air and missile defense system that provides protection against a variety of aerial platforms. The system, which is used by the Indian Air Force, Indian Army Force, Indian Navy and Israeli Defense Forces, includes an advanced phased array radar, command and control, mobile launchers and interceptors with advanced RF seeker.

Keystone buys 25% of Europe to India fiber-optic project
REIT fund Keystone, is joining a project by Cinturion Corp. for laying an intercontinental fiber-optic network at a total investment of some $900 million. The fund has bought 25% of the project for deploying an advanced fiber-optic network extending 20,000 kilometers that will open an Internet channel connecting India, the Middle East and Europe.
