2022 Shmunis School Retreat

During the event that occurred in July, the various units of the school presented new activities in their research fields, including genetics, cancer research, biochemistry, microbiology, bioinformatics, cell biology

A conference was held for The Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research at the Peres Peace Center which brought out the school's advocating innovation, excellence and cooperation.

 

During the event that occurred in July, the various units of the school presented new activities in their research fields, including genetics, cancer research, biochemistry, microbiology, bioinformatics, cell biology etc. The conference was attended by dozens of students, lecturers, researchers and staff from the various laboratories. The event included professional lectures, poster stands, one-minute talks, award ceremony and the Shmunis Dinner/DJ party celebration.

 

Among the award winners:
 

  • First place: PhD student from the laboratory of Dr. Dudu Burstein- Bruria Samuel
     
  • Second place: post-doctoral fellow from the laboratory of Prof. Judith Berman- Marina Druisekas
     
  • Third place: a research worker from the laboratory of Prof. Anat Herskovitz- Dr. Nadejda Sigal

 

The organizer of the event was Prof. Vered Padler-Karvani
 

Vered: "It was a significant day, in which everyone at the conference discovered new and revolutionary research. I am confident that we have succeeded in enriching their world with special new insights. I believe that these kind of events will lead to new meaningful collaborations between the researchers in the various laboratories and will encourage students to lead future research in their field."
