Prof. Mia Horovitz's lab is involved in two projects: 1. The molecular biology underlying Gaucher's disease: Gaucher disease is a genetic autosomal recessive disease caused by decreased activity of the lysosomal enzyme glucocerebrosidase. 2. The role of the EH proteins in endocytosis and intracellular trafficking: Prof. Horovitz discovered a family of proteins that participate in endocytosis and intracellular trafficking, designated EHDs (EH-domain containing).
