Chief Minister of Punjab H.E Capt. Amarinder Singh visit to Israel
Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh visited Israel from October 21-25 to strengthen cooperation with Israel in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture and dairy.
Capt. Amarinder Singh called on the President of Israel H.E Reuven Rivlin and also met the Minister of Energy & Water Resources, H.E Yuval Steinitz, at the Knesset.
On October 22, Capt. Singh visited Naandan Jain Irrigation Plant to see precision agriculture and horticulture and later visited the Dan Region Wastewater Treatment Plant (Shafdan) and met with the CEO Ehud Hallel. On October 23, he visited the Commonwealth cemetery for Indian soldiers in Haifa to pay homage to the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during World War I to liberate the city.
On October 23, the Chief Minister graced a Seminar on "Investment Opportunities in Punjab" organized by the Embassy of India. 4 MOUs were signed in his presence: between Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation and M/s Mekorot Water Company Ltd., and between Punjab Agricultural University and Tel Aviv University, Arava Institute for Environmental Studies and Galilee International Management Institute.
On October 24, He visited the Indian Hospice, a symbol of heritage and presence in Jerusalem going back to over 800 years and on the last day visited a dairy farm in Kfar Vitkin.

Indian participation at DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival 2018
On 4 September, Ambassador Pavan Kapoor hosted a lunch and interacted with a delegation comprising State Government officials from 8 Indian States, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion official, and Invest India. The delegation was on an exposure visit to observe Israel's Startup Ecosystem and to participate in the DLD Tel Aviv 2018.
On 5 September Ambassador Pavan Kapoor and officials of the Embassy visited the annual DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival 2018. They met and interacted with the participants from India both from the Government and private sector. The Festival, has over the years, witnessed increased participation from India.

Interaction with Indian Post Doc students in Israel
On 24 August, Mr. Tshering W. Sherpa, Deputy Chief of Mission and senior officers of the Embassy interacted with the Indian student community, most of whom are post-doctoral students from Life Sciences from top universities of Israel. The Embassy takes pride in the students who are pursuing studies and research in diverse and cutting edge fields. The Embassy will continue the ongoing interaction with Indian students on a regular basis.

Roundtable with I4F winners
During the visit of Prime Minister of India to Israel in July 2017, both sides set up a USD 40 million India-Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (14F) for joint projects. Four joint Industrial R&D projects were awarded under the I4F on 26 July 2018 in New Delhi. Ambassador Pavan Kapoor met the CEOs/senior officials of the four Israeli partners ( Bacsoft; Ubiqam Ltd.; Agrosolar Irrigation Systems Ltd. and Sanoculis Ltd) in the joint projects for an Interactive discussion on the status till date and the road map ahead. The Embassy will continue to maintain outreach and interaction with the four awardees.

Israel to Set Up Massive Startup Incubation Facilities in India Starting with Bengaluru in December
Israel-based Modiin Entrepreneurs’ Startup Hub (MESH) will set up an India-Israeli Innovation Centre (IIIC) in Bengaluru, which will be its first startup incubation facility in India after the US, the UK and China. IIIC Bengaluru is expected to be launched mid of December this year, which will be followed by two more such incubation facilities in India. Spread across 10,000 square feet, the Bengaluru facility, which is MESH’s fourth such facility globally, will be set up in the central business district of Bengaluru and will be operated by MESH itself.

Israeli Defense Contractor IAI Signs $777 Million Contract With State-Owned BEL in India
Israel-based government-owned defense contractor Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) announced Wednesday it was awarded an $777 million contract with Indian state-owned company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). IAI will be supplying seven ships of the Indian Navy with long-range surface to air defense missiles and missile defense systems. BEL will be the main manufacturer for the project. Between 2013 and 2017, India accounted for 49% of Israel's arms export. IAI has been raking in much of the business with more than $2 billion in total deals amounting to nearly 22% of Israel’s overall $9.2 billion arms exports in 2017.

Indian e-commerce Flipkart acquired Israeli retail analytics startup Upstream
Flipkart has acquired an Israel-based startup, Upstream Commerce for an unknown amount. The new start-up works on real-time pricing and product assortment optimization solutions. This new company will help sellers on Flipkart to price and position their products in an optimized way. The Israel based company builds cloud-based, automated competitive pricing and product analysis solutions.

Tech Mahindra and Israel Aerospace Industries subsidiary ELTA Systems announce partnership
Tech Mahindra and ELTA Systems, a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), have partnered to provide cyber solutions and services to government and enterprise customers in India and around the world. This partnership will enable the companies to design and deliver bespoke Security Operation Centres (C-SOCs), Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and forensic laboratories, leveraging on state-of-the-art automation and orchestration tools, AI and Machine learning analytics and best of breed technology. The partnership will also offer consultation, training and managed security services, based on national grade methodologies and procedures, and develop new future ready technologies that meet the evolving challenges of the cyber domain.

Indus food - F&B Exhibition in India – Sponsored for Israeli companies, 14-15 January, 2019 Trade promotion Council of India (TPCI), in association with the Department of Commerce, Government of India, is organising the Second Edition of Indus Food -Exhibition in the Food & Beverages Sector at India Expo Mart, Greater NOIDA on 14-15 January, 2019. Organized annually, Indusfood is India’s official, export-focused F&B Trade fair showcasing the country’s best line-up of food & agri products to global buyers. The previous edition of Indus Food, was inaugurated by Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry (CIM), GOI.
