Visit to Watergen by Ambassador
On November 9, Ambassador Visited Watergen and interacted with President Michael Mirilashvili, Watergen India CEO Maayan Mulla and Chaitanya Jaipuria, SMV Jaipuria group. In May 2022, Israel's Watergen and India's SMV Jaipuria group formed a JV in the field of water-from-air technology and announced investment plans of over 50 million USD in India in the next 3 years, including a manufacturing plant.

Ambassador Visited designers exhibition at Shenkar
On November 10th, Ambassador visited Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art for a special exhibition. The exhibition was organized by promising Israeli fashion designers after their successful completion of a semester on Indian textile & design techniques at Shenkar College of Engineering Design and Art. The exhibition was a collaboration between Dr. Oshrit Birvadkar, Indian origin Israeli Jew and foreign policy expert, and Ronny Douek businessman and philanthropist with Shenkar fashion design department.

Secretary DST, Dr. S. Chandrasekhar visit to Israel
A delegation led by Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST) Dr. S. Chandrasekhar visited Israel during November 14-18 for the Governing Board meeting of the India Israel Industrial R&D and Technological Innovation Fund (I4F). During the visit, the delegation also met with various stakeholders in Israel to discuss possible synergies in the areas of STEM, new technologies and climate change. The delegation visited Be'erot Yitzhak, a kibbutz in central Israel that develops integrated farming practices; Hebrew University's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Secretary, DST also met Dr. Avraham Domb, Chief Scientist, Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology of Israel to discuss existing bilateral collaboration between the two Ministries.

Dialogue for employment of Indian skilled workers in Israel
A delegation from the Ministry of External Affairs of India and National Skill Development Corporation visited Israel on December 7-8, 2022, for discussions on the G2G framework agreement and associated Implementation Protocols for the temporary employment of skilled workers from India in Israel in the construction and caregivers sectors.

Adani - Gadot Group to finalize Haifa Port acquisition
The Adani-Gadot consortium which is buying Haifa Port has closed financing for the deal. The Adani-Gadot consortium won the auction for the port last July, agreeing to pay NIS 4.1 billion, a price that many found astonishing. It was announced that the consortium had closed financing with a consortium of lenders led by Mizrahi Tefahot Bank.

India launched its first privately-built rocket "Vikram-S"
On November 18, India launched its first privately-built rocket Vikram-S with three customer satellites, two years after India opened its space sector to private players. The rocket was named after founder of Indian space program Vikram Sarabhai and the rocket engine was named, Kalam-80.

India to become the biggest smartwatch market
Indian market jump was driven by growth of local brands. Shipments globally also jumped 30%, and all markets grew except China and Europe. North America was the largest market from Q4 2020 to Q2 2022, and though shipments increased 21% in Q3, India’s massive growth means it is now the second biggest market. Meanwhile China’s market dropped 28%, the fourth consecutive quarterly contraction, which Counterpoint attributes to the ongoing lockdowns there.

On December 1, World Bank reported that remittance flows to India will rise 12% to reach $100 billion this year.

Meghalaya started dispatching medicines using drones
On December 6, Meghalaya started dispatching medicines using drones. Drone Station set up at Jengjal Sub-Divisional Hospital will deliver medicines to all rural health facilities falling within a radius of 50 km.

Researchers at Indian Institute of Science to develop unique air filters
On December 21, Researchers at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and Airth, an Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur startup, have developed air filters that contain green components capable of destroying germs and protecting against air pollution.

AI to be combined with Raman spectroscopy
On December 23, researchers from IISc displayed that combining AI with Raman spectroscopy can provide a powerful tool to quickly identify bacterial pathogens in clinical samples.

IND-TEXPO 2023
The Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), “Ind – Texpo 2023” is India’s Largest Sourcing Show of Cotton Textiles. This Show has been organised with the objective of promoting the Textile and Clothing sector in India and is supported by the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. With an exhibition area of over 2500 sq mts, "Ind – Texpo 2023” is a specialized B2B fair in the Indian textile sector offering a one-stop destination for worldwide importers to source Indian Textiles in all its splendour from fibres to fashion.

Auto Expo- The Motor Show 2023 Auto Expo is India’s largest biennial automobile exhibition and it is celebrated once in two years with great pomp and show. The 15th edition of India’s largest motor show was held in February 2020 just before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Now, the next edition of India’s largest automobile event, Auto Expo, will be held from January 13-18 in 2023. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) is a not-for-profit apex national body representing all major vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India.
