Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare visit to Israel
From May 8-11, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar visited Israel for bilateral meetings, field visits and discussions various bilateral matters related to agriculture between the two countries. During the visit, he met Minster Oded Forer at the Israeli Knesset. He also interacted with local farmers and experts of agrotech companies on modern farming practices and technologies such as drone agri tech, micro & drip irrigation, precision farming and post-harvest technologies etc.

FTA delegation to Israel
On May 23-25, a 3-member delegation from the Indian Department of Commerce, India visited Israel for the India-Israel Free Trade Agreement discussions.

JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation visit to Israel
On June 28, Ambassador Sanjeev Singla addressed a delegation of nearly 100 entrepreneurs and investors from JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation (JIIF) who visited Israel. The interaction was also attended by MK Prof Yossi Shain, Chairman of India-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group & Ambassador Rafi Harpaz, MoFA.

Event on Hi-Tech Visas for International Students
On 30 June, the Embassy of India in collaboration with Tel Aviv University and the Population and Immigration Authority organized an interactive session with students, universities & Hi-Tech company representatives on the updated regulation of Israel which enables employment visa for foreign/international students.

Growth Opportunities in India`s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Device- webinar
On June 9, The Embassy of India in collaboration with Invest India, Department of Pharmaceuticals, and the Israeli Embassy in India held a webinar titled "Growth Opportunities in India`s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Sectors". The event was addressed by Ms. Aparna Subramani, Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, and included the participation of 50 Israeli companies from the healthcare sector. The webinar exposed the companies to incentives and schemes that the Government of India has offered in the sector to foreign companies.

Israel deepens its strategic partnership with India in agriculture & water
Head of MASHAV visited India to further strengthen the Israel-India strategic partnership and development cooperation in the fields of agriculture and water. During the visit, a joint declaration between Israel and the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Haryana was signed in the field of integrated water resources management and capacity building.

ICL signs long-term Polysulphate deal with India Potash
On June 14, 2022, the leading Israeli company ICL Group, specialty minerals company signed a long-term agreement with India Potash Limited (IPL) to supply Polysulphate through 2026, with a renewal option. The five-year term is for an aggregate amount of 1 million metric tons, with quantities increasing for each year of the agreement. Each shipment will be a minimum of 25,000 tons and equally distributed across the calendar year, with prices and payment terms to be fixed between IPL and ICL.

Israeli irrigation company Rivulis buys India's Jain On June 22, 2022, the Israeli irrigation company Rivulis announced the acquisition of Indian irrigation company Jain Irrigation Systems Limited. Jain Irrigation will receive stock comprising 22% interest in Rivulis, while Singapore investment company Temasek will hold a 78% stake after the merger is completed.

Neobank Open Becomes 100th Unicorn Of India, Raises $50 Mn From IIFL
On May 2, Bengaluru-based neo-banking startup Open becomes the country’s 100th unicorn after raising $50 Mn from IIFL. The round also saw participation from its existing investors including Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek, US hedge fund Tiger Global, and 3one4 Capital.

NPCI to launch UPI, RuPay Cards in France
The National Payments Corporation of India's (NPCI) international arm, NPCI International, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lyra Network from France for acceptance of UPI and RuPay Cards in France. The UPI payment system is available in Bhutan, Singapore, Nepal, and the UAE, while NPCI International is aiming to extend UPI services in the United States, West Asia, and other European countries.

ISMC to invest $3 billion in analog semiconductor fab unit in Karnataka
Israeli Tower Semiconductor is a part of a consortium (ISMC) that is investing $3 billion in an analog semiconductor fab plant in Karnataka. The investment, announced in May 2022 through an MoU with Karnataka State is under the Government of India's $10-billion production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The project is expected to be implemented over the next 7 years and will help create about 1500 jobs.
