India Connect November-December 2016
   President of Israel visited India

President Reuven Rivlin, accompanied by a group of leading Israeli businessmen and agricultural experts, visited India from November 14-21, 2016. During the visit, the Israeli President took part in two business events in Delhi. Both countries also signed an agreement on water resources management and a declaration of intent on agricultural research during the visit. In addition, 21 academic MOUs were also signed. 
Minister of Science, Technology and Space visit to India
Minister of Science, Technology and Space, Mr. Ofir Akunis visited Delhi and Bangalore from 5-8 December, 2016. Minister Akunis has visited India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, Shri Harsh Vardhan, whom he met on December 6.  The Minister was accompanied by Member of Knesset Yaakov Perry, Member of Knesset Michal Rozin, Member of Knesset Yitzhak Vaknin, Director General of the Ministry Science. The purpose of the visit was to broaden the scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.  
CII defence delegation to Israel
A 35-member CII SME delegation representing various companies in the defence sector visited Israel from 6-11 November. The delegation visited various Israeli defence companies and took part in a defence exhibition which was organized for the delegation. The main objective of the visiting companies was to forge business collaboration with Israeli entities.
Tourism seminar held on November 30

Embassy of India, in collaboration with India Tourism Office Frankfurt, organized a panel discussion with leading tour operators in Israel on November 30 in Tel Aviv. The panel discussion was focused on promoting tourism to India. More than 10 leading Israeli tour operators took part in the discussion.
India-Israel Confluence
"India-Israel Confluence", organized by Jain International Trade Organization, took place in Tel Aviv on November 6, 2016. The event was attended by almost 250 people from diverse fields such as business, culture, Indian Jewish community etc. 
Tata Group and global companies join hands to set up IoT incubator in Israel

Tata Group has joined hands with General Electric Ventures, Microsoft Ventures and others to set up a new technology incubator in Israel. “With the first closing of $20 million, the incubator called i3 Equity Partners (i3) will focus on developing next-generation IoT (Internet of Things) and IoT (Industrial Internet of Things) technologies,” a Tata statement said. Qualcomm Ventures, HNA EcoTech, Pitango Venture Capital, and RAMOT, the business engagement center of Tel Aviv University, are the other partners in the venture. The Tata Group, along with the other partners, will support early-stage Israeli ventures, enabling them to reach advanced phase of development, and ultimately strengthen their presence in global markets.

Nasscom unveils 10-year cybersecurity roadmap for India
The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) Data Security Council of India (DSCI) launched the Roadmap for the Growing Cyber Security Industry in India. According to the report, given the existing status and the possibility of rapid growth, India should aspire to build a cybersecurity product and services industry of $35 billion by 2025. Nasscom envisages the Indian IT industry to achieve a size of $350-400 billion by 2025.  IT spending by banking and securities firms in India will reach $7.8 billion dollars in 2017, an increase of 8.6 percent from 2016.
Indo-Israeli LR Sam Test Fired Aboard Indian Warship
The Indo-Israeli jointly built Long Range Surface to Air Missile (LR SAM), which is also called Barak-8, was test fired on December 29 and 30 aboard an Indian Navy's Kolkata class destroyer.
ISRO's Polar Satellite Launches RESOURCESAT-2A Remote Sensing Satellite
In its thirty eighth flight (PSLV-C36), ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle successfully launched the 1235 kg RESOURCESAT-2A Satellite on December 07, 2016 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota. This is the thirty seventh consecutively successful mission of PSLV. The total number of satellites launched by India’s workhorse launch vehicle PSLV including today’s RESOURCESAT-2A has now reached 122, of which 43 are Indian and the remaining 79 are from abroad.
